PUCL Campaign to free Dr. Binayak Sen

The PUCL has launched a campaign for the release of Dr. Binayak Sen, Vice President PUCL beginning 14th November and concluding on Humn Rights day.

14th November also being children's day would be exactly one year and six months since Dr. Sen was arrested by Chhattisgarh police. Secondly, since Dr. Sen is a Children's Doctor an appeal that is initiated by the children of India that they release Dr. Sen "for the sake of their health and wellbeing", particularly that of the children of Chhattisgarh.

It was important to weave this demand into the existing children's day programmes and gradually build it upto Human Rights day demanding the unconditional release of Dr. Sen.

It was also decided that a concerted effort should be made to get more than a hundred MPs to sign the statement demanding the release of Dr. Sen. ( see the attached appeal). This activity could also be done by each group getting their local MP to sign this appeal. ( please see enclosed appeal of MPs).
